Leaving The USA

#1 "Leaving The USA"

I have been looking forward to this trip ever since I have been selected. I have been dreaming of all the wonderful sights and experiences I will get to witness. Tonight I just finished packing my bags for this adventure of a lifetime. I packed the essentials of course, that being all of my favorite outfits. However I did also pack the actual essentials like my laptop and chargers etc. I have a feeling I am going to have trouble sleeping these next few nights because I am just so excited to experience Italy. From the culture, to the sights, and just the day to day life. Everything about this trip has me so excited!
What I want to learn about myself the most through this trip is just how adaptable I can be. How can I make the most out of every situation? How can I really live in the moment and soak up every experience?
I want to know by the end of this trip how I can really be in the moment, be in the present, live life to the fullest. I also want to learn how to be a better role model. I feel like I will be able to learn a lot from watching my peers at the leadership summit and I can become a better leader myself from it. This best summarizes the goals I have for this trip.
Expectations I have for myself on this trip are to be the best friend / student I can be, be respectful to everyone I interact with, and to be a great example of PCS member /  OU student. I will be working very hard all throughout this trip to uphold these expectations I have set for myself. I will also be uplifting to my peers to help them reach this expectation. After all, we are expected to be great examples of PCS students.
Overall, I am so excited for this adventure. Each day the excitement grows. I can't wait to see all of the stunning artwork along with the beautiful architecture that Italy has to offer. I am also very excited for the historical aspect of the trip because I am a HUGE history nerd. I have been eagerly awaiting my arrival in Rome and I am so excited that it is only 2 days away!
